Linda C. Ivany is a paleontologist and Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University. She received her PhD from Harvard University and was a Michigan Society Fellow at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor before moving to Syracuse in 2000. At SU, she teaches courses in the history of Earth and life, paleontology, and science writing. She is a Fellow of the Paleontological Society and the Geological Society of America, and in 2023 received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Association for Women Geoscientists.
